Games of March 1-10, 2024

Summaries by Joshua Boyd / NCDCHockey.com

Forward: Ethan Byrne, Mercer Chiefs

Byrne (‘03/Mundelein, Ill.) was a huge goal-scorer for the Chiefs as they were able to solidify the No. 2 seed in the Atlantic Division, and the guaranteed first round home ice that comes with such a high spot. Byrne put up five goals so far this month, including a hat trick on March 10 against the WBS Knights. He also added four assists for nine points in a busy five-game stretch in the first 10 days. For the season, Byrne now has 36 points in 38 games.

Defense: Jonah Copre, Rockets Hockey Club

Copre (‘03/Elgin, Ill.) has had a fantastic start to March, as he put up two goals and four assists for six points in four games. The NCDC veteran of now 90 games also led the Rockets during this stretch in average ice time with 23:40, and was a +3 to tie for the team lead. Defensively, his 24 takeaways were second on the team. He improved to 48 points in 49 games this season and 87 points in 90 games for his career.

Goaltender: Daniel Moor, Jersey Hitmen

Moor (‘06/Omaha, Neb.) put up a 4-0 record so far here in March and going back to Feb. 9, he has won eight of his last 10 starts. During March so far, he has stopped 132 of 140 shots for a .943 save percentage. He currently stands at 14-10-2-2 with a .925 save percentage on the season.

Rookie*: Michael Sullo, Mercer Chiefs

Sullo (‘04/Freehold, N.J.) joined the Chiefs this year out of Kimball Union Academy, but even his time there came after several years with the Chiefs Bantam and Midget teams, making him essentially a homegrown player for the NCDC Chiefs. Recently, Sullo has put up four goals and three assists for seven points in five March games. In 18 NCDC games, Sullo has 17 points for the season.
