The final and always thrilling regular season event on the NCDC Showcase Series calendar is the South Shore Kings Presidents Day Showcase, to be held Feb. 14-16, 2025, at the Foxboro Sports Center in Foxboro, Mass. The Kings won the 2024 Dineen Cup Championship in an edge-of-seat three-game series that ended with an overtime win against the Ogden Mustangs, so this South Shore organization will want to put its best crown forward. Foxboro Sports Center, a three-sheet facility, features a full-service pro shop and on-site restaurant, Augusta’s Foxboro.
The NCDC, in conjunction with the Kings, warmly welcome NCAA scouts from all around New England - where there are more than 60 NCAA schools located - and beyond for this three-day event featuring all 15 New England and Atlantic Division teams. More than 165 players from the 2023-24 season and alumni committed to NCAA colleges last year, including 61 to the NCAA Division I level. Additionally, 18 NCDC players have been selected in the NHL Entry Draft since 2017.
The timing of the South Shore Kings Presidents Day Showcase is crucial, as well, because teams are entering the stretch drive of the final month of play after the event closes. College scouts will see players giving every ounce of stamina and energy for their teams’ cause to give them a great playoff position or possibly push their way in from an outside spot.
