Boston Dogs 4, Boston Jr. Rangers 3

In the first game of the day at the South Shore Kings Presidents Day Showcase, the Dogs defeated the Jr. Rangers in regulation. Owen Penny (’04/Livonia, Mich.) scored twice, and Tanner McFaul (’05/Essex, Vt.) had a 1-2-3 line. Nathan McDougall (’04/Gatineau, Que.) had two assists, and goaltender and recent Misericordia University recruit Ayden Pierce (’04/Oshawa, Ont.) made 28 saves on 31 shots.

 

Connecticut Jr. Rangers 5, Seacoast Spartans 3 

Recent St. Olaf commit Carl Ericksen (’04/Okemos, Mich.) scored twice, and Seth Wall (’05/Clarkston, Mich.) registered a goal and an assist. Suffolk commit Alexander Ondos (’04/Baden, Pa.) had two assists, and in net, Jan Lokajicek (’04/Czechia) stopped 19 of 22 shots for the win.

 

South Shore Kings 4, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights 1

The Kings won their seventh in a row, with Wesleyan University recruit Will Rassier (’04/Princeton, N.J.) scoring a goal and adding an assist, while Ethan Woolcott (’05/Irvine, Calif.) and Zachary Walsh (’05/Lake View, N.Y.) had two assists apiece. In net, Justin Bayers (’06/Kamas, Utah) made 19 saves on 20 shots.

 

Worcester Railers JHC 6, Jersey Hitmen 5 (SO)

The Railers pulled off a big upset win over the Hitmen, with Patrick Dotson (’05/Bronxville, N.Y.) scored a goal and added an assist during regulation and then added the shootout game-winner. Captain Austin Jerzak (’04/Albany, N.Y.) had a goal and two assists, while Justin Massa (’04/Cheshire, Conn.) had a 1-1- 2 line, and Tye Battipaglia (’04/Cheshire, Conn.) had two assists. Cole Scullion (’06/Burlington, Ont.) had 33 saves on 38 shots in the win.

 

Rockets Hockey Club 2, Northern Cyclones 0 

Jason Cai (’05/Basking Ridge, N.J.) stopped all 35 shots he faced for a shutout, while Connor Lemmerbrock (’04/Springsboro, Ohio) scored the game-winner and Shawn Swavely (’06/Reading, Pa.) put up two assists.

 

Mercer Chiefs 5, Utica Jr. Comets 3

Five different goal-scorers tallied goals for the Chiefs, including Samuel Ciappa (’05/Baldwinsville, N.Y.) with the game-winner. Ryan Stratton (’05/Syracuse, N.Y.) had two assists and in net, recent call-up Noah Pfab (’07/Nurnberg, Germany) got his first NCDC win with 27 saves on 30 shots. Pfab, a recent call-up from the Hershey Cubs, was a USPHL Premier All-Star.

 

P.A.L. Jr. Islanders 6, Islanders Hockey Club 2

The Jr. Islanders enjoyed a statement win over the Islanders Hockey Club, with Arthur Mirante (’04/Garden City, N.Y.), Nolan King (’05/East Greenwich, R.I.), Michael Calabrese (’05/Wantagh, N.Y.) and Robert Lachance (’04/West Hartford, Conn.) each had a goal and an assist. Andrej Klapica (’05/Piestany, Slovakia) had two assists and Ethan Ramonetti (’06/East Northport, N.Y.) picked up the victory in net.

 

West Chester Wolves 2, Thunder Hockey Club 0

Griffin Davis (’04/Nashua, N.H.) made 33 saves on 33 shots for a shutout victory. Owen Norman (’04/Oro-Medonte, Ont.) scored the game-winning goal and Alec Alfieri (’05/Centennial, Colo.) registered two assists.

 

Utah Outliers 5, Rock Springs Grizzlies 2

Garrett Joss (’04/Whitby, Ont.) scored twice, and recent acquisition Kaleb Pitman (’04/Fergus Falls, Minn.) scored a goal and an assist. Additionally, Justin Obrochta (’06/Garden Grove, Calif.) and Kole Mears (’06/Elk River, Minn.) each had two assists. In net, Matthew MacArthur (’04/Barrington, Ill.) registered 22 saves on 24 shots.

 

Idaho Falls Spud Kings 5, Pueblo Bulls 4

Bronson Sabol (’05/Madison, Wis.) scored the game-winning goal in regulation as the Spud Kings outlasted the host Bulls. Lucas Rauner (’05/Esko, Minn.) had three assists, and each of Easton Edwards (’05/Anchorage, Alaska) and Andrew Schmidt (’05/Chicago, Ill.) had a goal and an assist. Charlie Durkin (’06/Glencoe, Ill.) made 28 saves on 32 shots for the win.
