In The Playoff Push, we will take a look at the busiest game days’ most integral games in regards to teams clinching playoffs or clinching specific playoff berths, as we head down the stretch toward the end of the regular season in early March.

9 games today
Mercer (No. 2 Atlantic) can clinch today with a win over South Shore (No. 2 New England) and a regulation loss by the Hitmen (No. 6) at Utica (No. 3 New England).
Another way of saying how tight the East is, especially in the Atlantic, only the P.A.L. Jr. Islanders, Islanders Hockey Club and South Shore Kings are guaranteed no play-in game. Those three plus Utica are the only teams to have clinched a berth.
In the Mountain, Ogden (1) will clinch home ice with a point today at Utah (No. 2) or a Provo (No. 3) loss at Rock Springs (No. 6),
Idaho Falls (No. 5) hosts Pueblo (No. 4). The Spud Kings are down a point against Pueblo, but they have two games in hand.
P.A.L. has four teams chasing them for the Founders Cup (regular season championships). A P.A.L. win today will cut the chaser list to three.
