Games of Dec. 1-5, 2023

Week of Dec. 7, 2023

Summaries by Joshua Boyd / NCDCHockey.com

Forward: Mason Moore, Connecticut Jr. Rangers

Moore (‘04/Lititz, Pa.) continues to show his growth within the Rangers’ NCDC program, with whom he is skating for a third year. Moore registered two goals over their weekend series against the WBS Knights – and both were the game-winning goals. Overall, he has five points in the 13 games he’s played this season.

Defense: Jonah Copre, Rockets Hockey Club

Copre (‘03/Elgin, Ill.) was in on all three goals that the Rockets scored in their 5-3 loss to the Mercer Chiefs. For the two-game series, both wins by Mercer, Copre averaged four takeaways and 1.5 blocks per game. Copre now has 63 points in 65 games for his two-year career.

Goaltender: Primo Baldassarre, Connecticut Jr. Rangers

No question about this one – back-to-back 40-and 37-save shutouts for the Rangers’ sweep against the WBS Knights. Baldassarre (‘04/Glenolden, Pa.) became the first Rangers goaltender to post back-to-back donuts. He is a former Choate Rosemary Hall Captain and a former Philadelphia Jr. Flyers midget standout.

Rookie*: Ryan Franks, P.A.L. Jr. Islanders

Franks (‘05/Roslyn, N.Y.) is a fourth-year Jr. Islander going back to the USPHL 15U level, and he’s becoming a huge go-to player for the Jr. Isles, who just scored a pair of goals to help them win two games against the Jersey Hitmen. Franks registered the regulation GWG in a 2-1 victory and also scored in a 5-2 victory. Franks has 15 points in 24 games.

* = no more than 10 Tier II games prior to 2023-24 / ’04 or younger
