#NCDCAlumni: Former Junior Bruins, P.A.L. Goaltender Gale Named Atlantic Hockey Goaltender Of The Week

Holy Cross Men’s Hockey junior Thomas Gale was named Atlantic Hockey Goaltender of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday.

Gale backstopped the Crusaders to their back-to-back shutouts of Bentley University this weekend, tallying his second and third collegiate shutouts. Gale recorded 23 saves on Friday night, before stopping 29 shots on Saturday, finishing the weekend with 52 saves on 52 shots.

With the two shutout games, Gale has not allowed a goal since the second period of the Crusaders matchup with AIC on Nov. 10, amassing 140:31 minutes in net without allowing a goal. This is his first Atlantic Hockey weekly honor.

Gale and the Crusaders will return to action tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m. when they face Army West Point.

Gale played for the Boston Junior Bruins in 2019-20, when he was named NCDC Goaltender of the Year. In 41 games, he posted a 32-7-0-2 record, a 2.38 GAA and a .935 save percentage. He returned to the NCDC at Hub City Tampa in 2020-21, suiting up for the P.A.L. Jr. Islanders until the end of their season over 16 games, posting a 13-2-0-1 record, with a .938 save percentage and a 1.96 GAA.
