College of the Holy Cross junior forward Liam McLinskey was named one of 10 finalists for the 2024 Hobey Baker Award, the committee announced Wednesday afternoon. McLinskey becomes the first Crusader in program history to earn a spot on the top 10 list.

A Pearl River, N.Y. native, McLinskey had a breakout season this year, leading the Crusaders in scoring with 47 points (19g – 28a). The Atlantic Hockey Player of the Year and an Atlantic Hockey First Team selection, McLinskey became the first Crusader to eclipse the 45 point and 25 assist mark in 17 years. His 47 points are tied for the second most in a single season in program history, while his 19 goals are tied for the third highest and his 28 assists are tied for the fourth highest mark.

McLinskey picked up at least a point in 31 of the team’s 39 games this season and registered 14 multi-point efforts this season. His 13-game point streak over the final nine weeks of the season, when he tallied 23 points on 10 goals and 13 assists, was the second longest such streak in program history.

The Atlantic Hockey Scoring Champion, McLinskey paced Atlantic Hockey in league play with 31 points on 20 goals and 11 assists. Over the full season, McLinskey’s 47 points are the 12th highest mark in the nation, while his 19 goals rank him 22nd and his 28 assists place him 16th.

McLinskey helped the Crusaders to their first 20-win campaign since the 2012-2013 season, and their highest playoff seeding since the 2005-2006 season.
