The National Collegiate Development Conference and the United States Premier Hockey League congratulate the seven NCDC alumni who are moving on with their NCAA Division I teams to the “Frozen Four,” the championship round of the D-I National Tournament.

The National Tournament began on March 27, with 16 teams taking the ice at four Regional Championships, with one winner of each Regional advancing to the Frozen Four. Below are brief bios of the seven former NCDC players moving on to the Frozen Four, which will be played April 10 (semifinals) and April 12 (championship) in St. Louis, Mo. Also listed below is an overall list of all 28 NCDC alumni whose teams played in the National Championships.

Shane Lachance, F, Boston University

Boston Junior Bruins (2020-21)

Lachance played in 25 games with the Junior Bruins in 2020-21, scoring 15 points, and also added six points in six playoff games as the Junior Bruins reached the Dineen Cup semifinal round. Lachance was drafted in 2021 out of the NCDC by the Edmonton Oilers, who have since traded his rights to the New Jersey Devils in early March 2025.

Lachance moved on to two seasons with the Youngstown Phantoms before joining the BU Terriers in 2023-24. With the Terriers, he has a careerline of 24-32-56 points in 78 career games. Lachance is Captain of the BU Terriers as a sophomore.
