Thunder Hockey Club 6, Boston Jr. Rangers 3 

The Thunder won their second game in a row as they defeated the Jr. Rangers on Friday afternoon. The team got three-point performances from each of Gaber Sorn ( ’06, Jesenice, Slovenia) and Southern New Hampshire University recruit Jory Veenstra (’04/Kansas City, Mo.) NCDC All-Star selection Roman Wainwright (’05/Milford, Mich.) put up a 1-1-2 line, and in net, Prestyn Carter (’04/Macomb, Mich.) made 24 saves on 27 shots.

 

Seacoast Spartans 4, Worcester Railers JHC 2

The Spartans took a big upset win against a team that is 13 points ahead of them in the standings, coming away with the 4-2 victory. Jordan Bezio (’04/North Hampton, N.H.) registered the GWG and added one assist, and Campbell Karofsky (’04/Denver, Colo.) scored twice. In net, Jacob Jaslow (’04/Tomkins Cove, N.Y.) put up 27 saves on 29 shots.

 

South Shore Kings 4, Islanders Hockey Club 1 

The Kings got a game-winning goal and an assist from Sacred Heart University recruit and All-Star selection Jack DesRuisseaux (’04/Manchester, N.H.) , while fellow All-Stars Will Rassier (’04/Princeton, N.J.) and Logan Brennan (’06/Hingham, Mass.) also contributed to the big win. In net, recent SUNY-Plattsburgh recruit Beau Lane (’04/Pembroke, Mass.) made 25 saves on 26 shots.

 

Utica Jr. Comets 3, Northern Cyclones 2 (OT) 

Utica won their second straight with the overtime winner coming from veteran Anthony Alvarado (’04/Stockton, Calif.) In net, the winning goalie was Dylan Eliason (’04/Northville, Mich.), who made 26 saves on 28 shots. He is 4-0-0-1 in his last five games.

 

West Chester Wolves 5, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights 1

The Wolves improved to 1-0-1-0 in their past two games, coming off a big Friday win against the Knights. Bryan Weissler (’04/Floral Park, N.Y.) and Connor Stokes (’05/Easton, Md.) each scored twice. Anton Berg (’04/Malmo, Sweden)  put up a 1-2-3 line and All-Star Brayden Sprickman (’05/Erie, Pa.) had two assists. In net, Giulio Torriero (’07/Pittsburgh, Pa.) stopped 25 of 26 shots.

 

Ogden Mustangs 4, Casper Warbirds 0

Denis Kuzmenkov (’06/Moscow, Russia) started the scoring and the Mustangs never looked back as they bounced back from a tough weekend in Pueblo a week ago to win 4-0 over Casper. NCDC All-Star Dilans Birkans (’06/Ilskile, Latvia) put up 12 saves for his third shutout of the season.

 

Idaho Falls Spud Kings 4, Utah Outliers 0 

Two shutouts tonight by the two goaltenders of the NCDC All-Stars Prospects team! While Dilans Birkans got the job done for Ogden, fellow Prospects creasemate Charlie Durkin (’06/Glencoe, Ill.) stopped all 30 saves he faced for his third shutout of the season. All-Star Andrew Schmidt (’05/Chicago, Ill.) put up a goal and an assist, while fellow All-Star D.J. MacLeish (’05/Troy, Mich.) and Timothy Kim (’04/Vancouver, B.C.) each had two assists.
