Mercer Chiefs 4, West Chester Wolves 2

The Mercer Chiefs got a goal and an assist from defenseman Jacob Therrien (’05/Beauport, Que.), as well as three assists from Anthony Sparo (’04/Bensalem, Pa.). In net, Dominick Gatto (’05/St. Charles, Ill.) earned a win with 25 saves on 27 shots. The Chiefs came up to within two points of first place in the Atlantic Division.

 

Utica Jr. Comets 3, Northern Cyclones 1

Xavier Goodwin (’05/Alpharetta, Ga.) led the Jr. Comets with two goals on a call-up from the USPHL Premier – USPHL Advancement In Action. Michael Valenta (’05/Sumperk, Czechia) put up 43 assists on 44 shots.

 

Jersey Hitmen 10, WBS KNights 3

The Hitmen had a big offensive showing in Pennsylvania, to pull to within one point of the Atlantic Division lead. The Hitmen got five-point games from both Sammy Mielock (’04/Grand Rapids, Mich.) and Ryan Shea (’06/Norwell, Mass.), each with 2-3-5 lines. Ty Oller (’05/Wayne, N.J.) and Wilson Farrow (’04/Sudbury, Ont.) each put up three points, with Oller scoring 1-2-3 and Farrow putting up three assists. Tyler Fogu (’04/Bayonne, N.J.) scored twice. Picking up a goal and an assist apiece were Breyden Zupsansky (’04/Cleveland, Ohio), Filip Tomiczek (’04/Tvinec, Czechia) and Kenneth Kalman (’05/Bogota, N.J.)  Lucas Di Chiara (’04/Fairfield, Conn.) chipped in with two assists. In net, Nick Bunch (’05/Canton, Mich.)

 

Boston Jr. Rangers 6, Islanders Hockey Club 3

The Jr. Rangers came up with a big upset victory, with six different goal-scorers chipping in. Samuel Lyons (’04/Green Bay, Wis.) and Brandon Di’Antonio (’04/Studio City, Calif.) each put up a goal and an assist. Picking up two assists apiece were Luca Restauri (’05/Hamilton, Ont.), Matthias Mader (’04/Vienna, Austria) and Jeremy LaCroix (’04/Marlborough, Mass.)  Stephen Chen (’05/Beijing, China) stopped 30 of 35 shots.

 

Utah Outliers 7, Casper Warbirds 2

The Outliers put up a 7-2 victory in Wyoming on Saturday night. Scoring two goals apiece were Garrett Joss (’04/Whitby, Ont.), who also added an assist, and Magzhan Sagadiev (’05/Almaty, Kazakhstan). Makar Klochkov (’04/Lake Elsinore, Calif.) and Kole Mears (’06/Elk River, Minn.) scored a goal and an assist. Michael Schwartz (’04/N. Hollywood, Calif.) dished out two assists. Marcus Ouellet (’04/Toronto, Ont.) made 28 saves on 30 shots in goal.

 

Pueblo Bulls 3, Rock Springs Grizzlies 2

The Bulls got all three goals in the second period, including the winner by Trevor Stewart (’05/Cumming, Ga.), while Mykyta Bondariev (’06/Kyiv, Ukraine) earned two assists. Devin Peck (’05/Colorado Springs, Colo.) stopped 30 of 32 shots for the win.

 

Idaho Falls Spud Kings 3, Ogden Mustangs 2 (SO)

D.J. MacLeish (’05/Troy, Mich.) scored the shootout winning goal, his fourth career shootout goal and second winner. Andrew Schmidt (’05/Chicago, Ill.) had two assists, and Charlie Durkin (’06/Glencoe, Ill.) stopped 35 of 37 shots in the 65 minutes of action, plus two of four in the shootout.
