Jersey Hitmen 5, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights 1

Make it eight wins in a row for the upcoming USPHL Jersey Hitmen Classic hosts, winning 5-1 against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights on Saturday afternoon. Tyler Fogu (’04/Raleigh, N.C.) and Tyler Fogu (’04/Bayonne, N.J.) each scored two goals. Breyden Zupsansky (’04/Cleveland, Ohio) and Wilson Farrow (’04/Sudbury, Ont.) had three points apiece, Bryan Tang (’04/Hong Kong) dished out two assists, and in goal, Nick Bunch (’05/Canton, Mich.) stopped 24 out of 25 shots.

 

Utica Jr. Comets 4, Thunder Hockey Club 0 

The Utica Jr. Comets’ Dylan Eliason (’04/Northville, Mich.) made 35 saves for a shutout victory. Daniel Urban (’04/Orchard Park, N.Y.) scored a goal and an assist, and Zach Groleau (’06/St-Constant, Que.)  registered three assists in the win.

 

P.A.L. Jr. Islanders 5, Connecticut Jr. Rangers 1

The Jr. Islanders won their second game in a row, with Arthur Mirante (’04/Garden City, N.Y.)  put up a 1-2-3 line, while fellow P.A.L. veterans Michael English (’04/Smithtown, N.Y.) and Devin Niles (’06/Hatfield, Mass.) each registered a pair of assists. Ethan Ramonetti (’06/East Northport, N.Y.) , a Groton School product, stopped 40 of 41 shots.

 

Mercer Chiefs 2, West Chester Wolves 0

The Chiefs got the second shutout this season from Dominick Gatto (’05/St. Charles, Ill.), who made 38 saves to defeat the host West Chester Wolves in a 2-0 victory on Saturday night. Second-year Chief Anthony Sparo (’04/Bensalem, Pa.) scored the GWG with his first goal of the season.

 

Casper Warbirds 3, Rock Springs Grizzlies 1

USPHL Premier alum Brayden Curry (’05/Torrance, Calif.) scored his first NCDC goal shorthanded – and it stood up as the GWG – after a career that saw him play more than 100 USPHL Premier and Elite games before this year – that’s USPHL Advancement In Action right there! Second-year NCDC veteran Ryan Henry (’04/Wayne, N.J.) stopped 55 of 56 shots for the win, and second-year junior player Johnny Rodgers (’04/Lakewood, Ohio) registered two assists.

 

Ogden Mustangs 5, Idaho Falls Spud Kings 0

Hunter Bauer (’06/Cedar Rapids, Iowa) – a 2023 Mustangs NCDC Entry Draft Pick – earned his second shutout out of four junior games played so far. He stopped all 35 shots he faced in a 5-0 win against the Idaho Falls Spud Kings on Saturday night. Jiri Duda (’05/Glen Ellyn, Ill.) scored a goal and an assist, while a trio of defensemen in Leo Burns (’05/Hartland, Wis.), Ryan Tong (’04/Burnaby, B.C.) and Jack Bartfield (’04/Bloomington, Minn.) 

 

Pueblo Bulls 5, Utah Outliers 4 (SO)

Second-year Bull Cooper Owens (’04/Colorado Springs, Colo.) scored the shootout winning goal as the seventh Bulls shooter in a neck-and-neck game on Saturday night against the Outliers. In net, Owens’ former Colorado Rampage teammate Devin Peck (’05/Colorado Springs, Colo.)  stopped 27 of 31 shots in 65 minutes, before no Outlier could beat him on seven attempts in the shootout. Matsvei Marshchanok (’05/Minsk, Belarus) scored twice, and Lance Mengel (’04/Cleveland, Ohio) registered two assists for the winners.

For Utah, the trio of Lucas Hihn (’06/Burlington, Ont.), Tevz Zibert (’06/Llubljana, Slovenia) and Garrett Joss (’04/Whitby, Ont.) each had one goal and one assist.
