Niko Benjamin, who recently set the record for most NCDC games played (currently at 187, having broken the previous record of 183), scored two goals and added two assists to pass the 100-point mark in his record-setting career. Additionally, fellow #NCDC All-Stars Selection Daniel Urban (’04/Orchard Park, N.Y.) scored a goal and two assists and Cody Pisarczyk (’04/Calgary, Alb.) had a goal and an assist. Michael Valenta (’05/Sumperk, Czechia) stopped 27 of 28 shots.
Rockets Hockey Club 4, Connecticut Jr. Rangers 1
Connor Lemmerbrock (’04/Springboro, Ohio) scored twice and Lindenwood University recruit Gabriel Simpson (’07/Lafayette, Colo.) to help the Rockets defeat the Jr. Rangers. Derek Wood (’06/Louisville, Colo.) made 36 saves on 37 shots for the win.
South Shore Kings 3, Seacoast Spartans 2 (OT)
Gregor Jennersjo (’03/Stockholm, Sweden) broke in and scored the overtime goal to help the Kings come back from a 2-1 deficit to pick up the win against Seacoast. Justin Bayers (’06/Kamas, Utah) registered 22 saves on 24 shots.
West Chester Wolves 3, Jersey Hitmen 0
Griffin Davis (’05/Nashua, N.H.) turned away all 35 shots he faced for a shutout, the fourth of his season and in his career. Brayden Sprickman (’05/Erie, Pa.) scored the game-winning goal, and each of Drew McCandless (’05/Victor, N.Y.) and Cole Kerr (’06/St. John, N.B.) each had two assists.
Utah Outliers 5, Casper Warbirds 3
The Utah Outliers won their fourth game in a row, on the strength of two goals by Daniil Chuparnov (’04/St. Petersburg, Russia), as well as a goal and an assist by Xavier Brooks (’04/Scarborough, Ont.). Additionally, Justin Obrochta (’06/Garden Grove, Calif.) and Michael Schwartz (’04/North Hollywood, Calif.) each had two assists.
Ogden Mustangs 7, Pueblo Bulls 2
The Mustangs enjoyed a big win over what has been a surging Bulls team recently. Brody Simko (’04/Butler, Pa.) scored two goals and two assists for four points, while Jack Bartfield (’04/Bloomington, Minn.) scored a goal and three assists. Denis Kuzmenkov (’06/Moscow, Russia) scored two goals, and University of Notre Dame recruit Jackson Walsh (’05/Northville, Mich.) registered a goal and an assist. Dilans Birkans (’06/Ilskile, Latvia) stopped 32 of 34 shots to earn the win.
