Ogden Mustangs 2, Idaho Falls Spud Kings 0
The Mustangs got a huge 39-save shutout performance from Dilans Birkans on Monday night to take a 1-0 lead in the Mountain Division Championship series. They defeated the host Idaho Falls Spud Kings 2-0.
Along with Birkans’ goaltending heroics, Roman Cherniak and Cayden Effertz scored second period goals to help give the Mustangs the early series lead. Game 2 is Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. MDT, right back in Idaho Falls.
