Rockets Hockey Club 6, Worcester Railers JHC 3

The Rockets scored five unanswered goals in the third period after being down 3-1 following 40 minutes of play in the South Shore Kings Presidents Day Showcase. Hudson Slenker (’06/York, Pa.) scored two goals; Connor Lemmerbrock (’04/Springboro, Ohio) and Jakub Kristek (’07/Mlada Boleslav, Czechia) each had a goal and an assist; and Cameron Wolf (’06/Portland, Maine) had two assists. In net, Derek Wood (’06/Louisville, Colo.) stopped 16 of 19 shots.

Mercer Chiefs 5, Seacoast Spartans 2

The Chiefs defeated the Seacoast Spartans thanks in large part to a hat trick from Tyler Agnew (’04/Kalamazoo, Mich.). Gregory Diamond (’04/West Chester, Pa.), Jake Stevens (’05/Newton, N.J.) and Alexsander Zverev (’05/Vologda, Russia) each added two assists. In net, Dominick Gatto (’04/St. Charles, Ill.) stopped 52 of 54 saves.

 

Islanders Hockey Club 2, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights 0 

The Islanders’ Daniel Heroux (’05/Montreal, Que.), a University of Vermont commit, secured a 25-save shutout as the IHC defeated the WBS Knights, 2-0. The opening goal of the game in the third period by Troy Hayes (’06/Windham, N.H.) stood as the game-winning goal.

 

P.A.L. Jr. Islanders 4, South Shore Kings 1

The Jr. Islanders and Kings engaged in a close contest well into the third period when Ivan Zelenov (’06/Moskva, Russia) scored his second straight GWG of the showcase. Two empty-netters sealed the victory, and Lukas Vejmelka (’04/Trebic, Czechia) stopped 24 of 25 shots.

 

Northern Cyclones 5, West Chester Wolves 3

The Wolves built a 3-1 lead in the first period, but the Cyclones tied it up before the second period ended. Alex LoGuercio (’04/New York, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal. He finished with two goals and one assist. Aidan Petroff (’06/Natrona Heights, Pa.) registered a 1-2-3 line and, in net, Logan Abric (’04/Hayward, Wis.) stopped 49 of 52 shots for the win.

 

Connecticut Jr. Rangers 8, Boston Jr. Rangers 1

The Jr. Rangers scored four goals in the second period en route to a big win. Aidan Callahan (’06/Tustin, Calif.) led the way points-wise with a goal and three assists, while Marc-Alexandre Richard (’05/Val D’Or, Que.) had three assists. Five other Rangers also had multiple point games. Jakub Kral (’04/Czechia) stopped 18 of 19 shots for the win.
