NCDC Roundup – Nov. 22, 2024: South Shore Kings Tie Winning Streak Record

South Shore Kings 5, Thunder Hockey Club 0 

The Kings tied the NCDC winning streak record on Friday, hitting their 19th victory in a row. The Kings fell in their very first game of the season – against the Thunder – on Sept. 19, and they haven’t lost at all since then. They tied the Jersey Hitmen’s original record set in 2018-19. If the Kings win their next game, they will become the sole record-holders. William Baker (’05/Norwalk, Conn.) stopped all 23 saves, and the team also got two goals and one assist from Tyler Maxner (’04/Bayfield, Ont.)  Additionally, Jack DesRuisseaux (’04/Manchester, N.H.) scored a goal and an assist. Defensemen Gregor Jennersjo (’04/Stockholm, Sweden) and Brian Grant (’04/Mansfield, Mass.) each registered two assists.

 

P.A.L. Jr. Islanders 3, Connecticut Jr. Rangers 1

The Jr. Islanders got a goal and an assist apiece from Carson Nickulas (’04/Barnstable, Mass.), Arthur Mirante (’04/Garden City, N.Y.) and Ryan Franks (’05/Roslyn, N.Y.) , while Aiden Holland (’05/Topsfield, Mass.) had two assists. Lukas Vejmelka (’04/Trebic, Czechia) stopped 32 of 33 shots, while on the other side, Jakub Kral (’04/Czechia) made 43 saves on 45 shots. The Jr. Islanders improved their point streak to 14 games (12-0-2-0).

 

West Chester Wolves 3, Rockets Hockey Club 0

Great goaltending performances were in the cards for Friday night, as NCDC veteran Griffin Davis (’05/Nashua, N.H.)  stopped all 36 shots he faced from the Rockets for his second career shutout and second in his last three starts, as well. Liam O’Donoghue (’04/Canonsburg, Pa.)  scored his first NCDC goal and also added an assist for the Wolves. The Wolves tied their Saturday opponents, the Mercer Chiefs, for third in the Atlantic Division.

 

Utah Outliers 6, Casper Warbirds 3

Outliers veteran Garrett Joss (’04/Whitby, Ont.) scored a 2-1-3 line, including the GWG, as the Outliers defeated the Warbirds in Casper, Wyoming. Also for the Outliers, the quartet of Lucas Hihn (’06/Burlington, Ont.), Justin Obrochta (’06/Shore View, Calif.), Braden Hansberger (’06/Elk River, Minn.) and Kole Mears (’06/Elk River, Minn.) all had a goal and an assist apiece. Jeffrey Fillion (’04/Chicoutimi, Que.) stopped 23 of 26 shots for the win. For the Warbirds, Brayden Boucher (’05/Irvine, Calif.) scored a hat trick to account for all three Warbirds goals.

 

Idaho Falls Spud Kings 4, Rock Springs Grizzlies 3

The Spud Kings moved into second in the Mountain Division and have earned points in five straight games (4-0-1-0) after their Friday night win against Rock Springs. Easton Edwards (’05/Anchorage, Alaska) scored a goal and added two assists for the Spud Kings. Veteran defenseman D.J. MacLeish (’05/Troy, Mich.) put up a goal and an assist, and Charlie Durkin (’06/Glencoe, Ill.) registered his fourth straight win with 22 saves in 25 shots.
