Northern Cyclones 3, South Shore Kings 0
The Northern Cyclones pushed into the series lead with a 3-0 Game 3 score, giving themselves a 2-1 lead against the South Shore Kings heading into the possibly deciding Game 4 on Saturday. Logan Abric’s 30-save shutout helped power the Cyclones to the victory. Additionally, Aidan Petroff had a goal and an assist and Loik Leduc registered two assists in the win. Game 4 will see puck drop at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Mercer Chiefs 3, P.A.L. Jr. Islanders 2
The Mercer Chiefs have pushed the Atlantic Division Championship series to a fourth game with a nip-and-tuck 3-2 regulation win on Friday evening. Easton Swift registered a goal and an assist to lead the way for Mercer, who also saw 43 saves on 45 shots by goaltender Cole Werthmann. The teams are back at it for Game 4 on Saturday at 3 p.m. EDT.
Idaho Falls Spud Kings 2, Ogden Mustangs 1
The Spud Kings took the 2-1 series lead in the Mountain Division Championships, following their 2-1 Game 3 win in Ogden on Friday night. The Spud Kings’ Liam Filip scored the second period game-winning goal. Leo Mantenuto opened the scoring for Idaho Falls in the first, and the Spud Kings held on even after Ogden got on the board in the second period. Charlie Durkin stopped 42 of 43 shots in an heroic showing for Idaho Falls. Ogden’s Dilans Burkans made 20 saves on 22 shots. Game 4 is back in Ogden on Saturday night at 7:15 p.m. MDT.
