NCDC Alumni Update: Holy Cross’ Gale Named Atlantic Hockey Goaltender Of The Month

Thomas Gale played two seasons in the NCDC for the Boston Junior Bruins (2019-20) and P.A.L. Jr. Islanders (2020-21)

WORCESTER, Mass. — Holy Cross men’s ice hockey senior Thomas Gale has been named the Atlantic Hockey America Goaltender of the Month for October, the league offices announced Friday afternoon. This is his first career Atlantic Hockey monthly accolade.

Gale played outstanding in October, holding opponents to three or fewer goals in all but one of the Crusaders’ seven games in the month. Gale’s season high 34 saves came in the Crusaders’ 4-3 win over UConn on Oct. 11, and he posted 25+ saves in five of the seven matchups.

Through the first month of the season, Gale has posted a 3-4-0 record with a 2.47 goals-against average and .918 save percentage, and boasts a 1.78 goals-against average and .935 save percentage in conference play.

The Crusaders (3-4-0, 2-2-0 AHA) will welcome two ranked opponents to the Hart Center Rink this weekend in no. 20/19 UMass Lowell (Nov. 1), and no. 14/13 Quinnipiac (Nov. 2). Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m.
